JR (1) — Rapid Train

在日本國內旅行, 最常用的交通工具就是JR (Japan Rail, 舊稱國鐵)。JR火車的種類真是多不勝數, 所以在日本有很多鐵道學會(club/circle), 讓各會員互相交流自己對火車的熱衷和收藏品。

有朋友想在下一次的關西之旅去京都, 大阪, 神戶, 明石, 姬路等地方, 希望在出發前了解清楚那種列車適用於JR kansai Pass。
根據網頁http://www.westjr.co.jp/english/travel/jrp/index.html，　

Kansai Area Pass [ For the Kansai (Keihanshin) Area)]
+ The pass holder has unlimited use of any standard trains and Haruka non-reserved seats within the corresponding area.
+ With the Kansai Area Pass, the pass holder may use standard non-reserved seats on limited express Haruka trains. If the pass holder wishes to use a standard non-reserved seat on any other limited express train, the pass holder must purchase a separate limited express ticket.

問題來了!!!!! 什麼列車是屬於limited express?? rapid train同limited express 有什麼分別呢?? Special Rapid又是什麼?? 原來還有Semi-Express和Section Rapid。所以, 今次我想跟大家探討一下JR列車的種類。

(1) Local Train

普通列車 ふつうれっしゃ Local Train
各駅停車 かくえきていしゃ = 各停（かくてい）OO Line
=> e.g. 中央・総武各駅停車 Chuo Line & Sobu Line(Local train)

(2) Special Rapid

通勤特快（つうきんとっかい/Commuter Special Rapid）（平日朝上りのみ）
中央特快（ちゅうおうとっかい/Chuo Special Rapid）
青梅特快（おうめとっかい/Ome Special Rapid）
通勤快速（つうきんかいそく/Commuter Rapid）（平日夕方下りのみ）
区間快速 （くかんかいそく）Section Rapid / Regional Rapid Service

(3) Rapid Train

快速列車 （かいそくれっしゃ/Rapid Train ）
新快速 （しんかいそく） Special Rapid Train (JR West西日本) / New Rapid Train (JR Tokai東海)
特別快速 （とくべつかいそく）= 特快（とくかい・とっかい） Special Rapid Train (JR Tokai東海)
準快速

(4) Semi Express / Local Express

準急行列車 (じゅんきゅうこうれっしゃ）= 準急 (じゅんきゅう) Semi Express / Local Express
区間準急 (じゅんきゅう) Section Semi-Express / Suburban Express
通勤準急 (つうきんじゅんきゅう）=Commuter Semi-Express

(5) Limited Express [extra cost**]

特別急行列車 （とくべつきゅうこうれっしゃ）= 特急（とっきゅう）Limited Express
エル特急 （エルとっきゅう）" "L" Limited Express
ライナー Liner = 直行便（ちょっこうびん)

其實, 準急,特快或快速列車都是會"飛站", 差別是究竟飛的站數多與少的分別。通勤特快是某特定時間(上班&下班)的飛站列車。区間快速是某區域會飛站而其他還是會每站停車的列車。

由此可見, 除了(5) Limited Express 急行列車 & 新幹線 要額外收費, 其他的特快或快速列車都是支付普通車資。
